This initiative highlights a family of authors whose books represent different generations, different journeys, and one shared mission: to inspire others through words.

• Patricia Butler shares the wisdom of a young author through Lessons Learned, encouraging children to embrace growth, resilience, and confidence.

• April L. Butler, founder of the Strozier Community & Family Foundation, offers hope and healing through Breaking the Narcissistic Bond, a survival memoir and healing workbook for those rebuilding their lives.

• AJ and JoJo are proudly featured in I'm Nuts for Donuts!, a children's book written by their grandmother, Vadis Primus Parson, celebrating family, imagination, and the special bond between siblings.

Together, these stories represent more than published books—they represent a family's commitment to literacy, leadership, entrepreneurship, and creating multiple streams of opportunity through creativity.

More Than A Job (MTAJ)

More Than A Job (MTAJ) is a workforce development and career readiness program offered by the Strozier Community and Family Foundation. We believe employment is more than just earning a paycheck, it's about creating stability, building confidence, and creating a pathway toward long-term success.

Our program provides personalized, one-on-one support to help participants overcome barriers to employment while developing the skills and resources needed to thrive in today's workforce. Whether you're seeking your first job, changing careers, or re-entering the workforce, MTAJ is here to support your journey.

Services Include:

• Individual career coaching and goal setting

• Resume writing and interview preparation

• Job search assistance and employment referrals

• Workforce readiness and professional development

• Financial literacy and life skills coaching

• Emotional wellness and trauma-informed support

• Referrals to community resources and supportive services

• Ongoing case management and accountability

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the More Than A Job (MTAJ) Program, applicants must:

• Be 16 years of age or older.

• Be a current recipient of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.

• Be motivated to obtain employment, improve job skills, or advance their career.

• Complete the program intake and eligibility verification process.

The Strozier Community & Family Foundation hosts a Free Essentials Giveaway on the fourth Sunday of every month to support individuals and families in our community. On May 31, we will provide food, bottled water, clothing, and hygiene bags to anyone in need. The giveaways take place at the Speedway off Innes Street in Salisbury, North Carolina and are part of our ongoing commitment to ensure community members have access to basic necessities and compassionate support.

Families in our community often struggle to access essential hygiene, personal, clothes, shoes, and household items. We are building and organizing a fully stocked Community Care Pantry to distribute personal care products, cleaning supplies, and household essentials during outreach events , restoring dignity and stability to families in need.

Why This Matters? Strong families build strong communities.

When fathers are empowered, youth are supported, and families have their basic needs met, we create a ripple effect of positive change that impacts generations.

This event is not just about funding , it is about building legacy, opportunity, and hope.
